Committees

Hospitality Committee organizes coffee hours, various parish celebrations involving food and coordinates greeters for the services.

Loaves & Fishes Campaign takes place every year in February. Children in Sunday School decorate paperbags that are handed out to parishioners who bring them back filled with donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank. By the end of the campaign, the front and aisles of the church are filled with hundreds of these bags.

Communications Committee organizes advertisements in the London Free Press and produces various brochures for Saint James.

Stewardship Committee oversees financing and fundraising for the church.

Nurture Committee runs the Wheels to Meals program and many other special events.

Liturgy Committee meets twice a year to coordinate the various aspects of our services including music, readers, altar guild and servers.

Property Committee is a group of hard working people who see to the maintenance of our grounds and buildings.

Altar Guild prepares the church for services coordinating flowers, putting out the elements for communion and decorating the church for special occasions.

Sunday School Teachers meet the first Sunday of each month at 9:15 AM to plan various programs and activities.

Sunday Nursery Staff is a group of adult and youth volunteers who look after children three years of age and younger in our newly refurbished nursery. The Nursery opens 15 minutes before the main service on Sundays.

Youth Groups are comprised of On the Edge, grades 5-7 and Seekers, grades 8-10 and meet once a month to plan activities including a youth worship service.

Senior Choir rehearses Thursday Evenings at 7:30 PM to prepare music for the main services on Sunday.

Junior Choir is made up of children age 8 and up. They meet Sunday's at 9:30 AM and perform in Church several time a year.

The Servers Guild provide assistance to the clergy during services. They meet on the second Sunday of each month for to eat breakfast and coordinate schedules.

Visitor's Group arranges meetings with newcomers as well as residents in Parkwood Hospital and the Dearness Home.

Coulson Counters meet weekly to record the Sunday givings.

Fellowship Committee organizes and produces 1-2 theme-oriented events per year. The events include musical entertainment, food and beverages, costumes, games and occasionally an auction. Proceeds from these evenings are earmarked for the Community Breakfast Program and The Childrens' Breakfast Program. Meetings are as needed prior to each event.

Church Library houses our collection of books and other materials for adults and youth.

ACW (Anglican Church Women) holds meetings on the first Friday of each month at 1:00 PM.

BAC (Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen) meets the second Sunday of each month at 9:15 AM to enjoy a hearty breakfast and to listen to a guest speaker.

Green Team Creates recommendations to improve our eco-friendlyness.

Ministry to the Community Groups


The Outreach Committee gets involved in many projects in the London community including Daily Bread, Collective Kitchens, Neighbourhood Link, Huron Church Camp and London Interfaith Council.

Breakfast Club Provides a healthy breakfast for several children from Victoria Elementary School Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:00 AM. The children are then escorted to school by volunteer teachers from Victoria.

Community Breakfast provides a nutritious breakfast for members of the community on the first Saturday of each month. Other community churches do the other Saturdays of the month

Vacation Bible School runs one or two week long day camps in July/August for children in the community.

Refugee Committee is comprised of a group of about 12 parishioners who assist refugee families which are new to our community.

Aces High meets on the first, third and fifth Monday of each month at 1:15 PM for social games of Bridge & Euchre.

Twinning Committee is responsible for various projects for our twinned Parish of Saint Paul's in South Africa.

Lay MinistryTeam arranges services and visits with seniors in area nursing homes who are unable to make it out to church. If you can't come to Saint James, Saint James will come to you.
