In June, 2003, the Parish dedicated a gorgeous Memorial Garden in the space between
the church and the parish hall. Present to cut the ribbon were Ms. Sue Barnes,
Mr. Bob Wood and Mr. Russ Monteith all representing different levels of government.
This Memorial Garden will add great dignity and beauty to the area, and our intention is that it be used by the whole community... for wedding photos, evening musical events, quiet meditation and even for the sprinkling of ashes. Over the years, several sets of ashes have been placed there ... but there would never be any headstones or markers that would detract from the "Garden" feel.
When our Garden was Dedicated on June 1, the last two lines of the following poem were quoted in the Rector's sermon.
The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a Garden
Than anywhere else on earth.
