Mission in South Africa

In 2005, A committee was formed at Saint James to look into twinning our parish with a parish in one of the poorest regions of the world -- South Africa.
Communication with this area is difficult and there are factions of society that are ripe with corruption. We wanted to make sure that our efforts and resources would be used to make a true difference. The twinning committee worked hard to overcome many obstacles. Their goal was to establish one-to-one relations with the parish of Saint Paul's. A multi-church parish in the poorest part of South Africa. Their dedicated resolve resulted in a
first contact meeting in March of 2007. Our Rector, Ken Anderson along with parishioners Janet Crozier and Barb Robinson travelled to South Africa and got to experience first hand, the spirit that is the people of Saint Paul's.
Their experiences are chronicled in
The Westminster Chimes Easter 2007 edition available under the Saint James Online menu. There are also many pictures under the
photos menu.
